Electric Cars with the Longest Range – Guide
Now is a good time to switch to an electric vehicle (EV) as technology has advanced enough to create more efficient batteries. This advancement means that many of today’s EVs have impressive range. Several of the cars in our electric vehicle leasing section have a range of 300 miles or more.

Mercedes EQS - 452 miles
This is the EV with the longest range that’s available in the UK. The 452 advertised range is available in the entry-level EQS 450+ trim. This impressive range is due to a huge 107.8kWh battery and a low coefficient of drag. Step up to the high-performance Mercedes-AMG EQS 53, and you get less range but better acceleration. For this trim, the range is 348 miles, but the car can go from 0-62mph in less than four seconds.
A heads up that the Mercedes EQS isn’t as stylish as the S-Class. The look and feel of this car aren’t as luxurious. But the range can’t be beaten if you opt for the basic trim level.
Fisker Ocean - 440 miles
Fisker is new to the EV market. Its first production vehicle is the Ocean. This stylish family SUV has an advertised range of 440 miles in the top-of-the-range Ocean Extreme and limited-run Ocean One trims. This high range figure is due to a 106.5kWh useable battery and two electric motors. This combination provides all-wheel drive and 557bhp. In the entry-level Ocean Sport, the range is a significantly lower 273 miles.

Polestar 2 - 406 miles
Previously, the Polestar 2 had a maximum range of 341. However, a recent facelift means it can now achieve an advertised 406 miles from a single charge. This car also has a price tag that’s around half what you can expect to pay for the Tesla Model S, so it has to be a contender if you’re looking for a competitively priced EV with a long range.
You also get a 41-litre frunk in this Polestar 2. So, there’s plenty of space for all your gear. One downside is that the ride is firm, so comfort levels aren’t always as good as they could be.
Tesla Model S - 394 miles
This was the car that set the benchmark for EV excellence. Having seen other brands catching up, Tesla upgraded the Model S in 2021, although the vehicle didn’t reach the UK until 2023. The new Model S has a range of 394 miles. It also has an impressive acceleration of 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds. This rate is improved to 1.99 seconds in the Model S Plaid trim.
The downside of the Tesla Model S is that it’s only available in left-hand drive. However, fans of this EV find that the 17” landscape touchscreen infotainment system and Tesla’s Autopilot system more than compensate for this.
Tesla Model 3 - 391 miles
The Model 3 is still the most popular Tesla vehicle for many people, as it’s the cheapest Tesla model. It also has a good range for the price. Each version can reach over 300 miles on a single charge, and the updated Model 3Long Range has an advertised range of 391 miles. You also get an acceleration of 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds.
In addition, there’s some excellent tech onboard this vehicle. This tech includes a 15.4” touchscreen and acoustic glass that creates a quieter cabin experience.
BMW i7 - 387 miles
This EV shares the same platform as the combustion engine-powered BMW 7 Series. This doesn’t mean that any shortcuts are taken with the production of the BMWi7 and its powertrain. The car has a sizeable 101.7kWh battery, which produces an advertised range of 387 miles. Depending on the trim level, the BMWi7 has an acceleration of 0-62mph in 3.7 to 5.5 seconds.
This vehicle also has plenty of space, and the materials are high-quality. So the ride is comfortable for the driver and passengers.
BMW iX - 382 miles
This model is BMW’s flagship electric SUV, with an excellent range of 382 miles. There’s also a good acceleration level of 62mph in 6.1 seconds, even in the least powerful xDrive40 option. If you opt for the 611bhp M60 model, this acceleration improves further to 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds.
This EV’s design divides opinion. However, there’s no doubting the quality of the materials in the cabin. They’re soft to the touch and high-end.
Polestar 3 - 379 miles
The Polestar 3 is aimed at the luxury end of the electric SUV market. It features a large 107kWh battery. According to the manufacturer, this produces a range of up to 379 miles. Add to this an acceleration of 0-62mph in 5 seconds, and it’s clear the Polestar 3 has impressive credentials.
These credentials continue inside the Polestar 3. There’s a panoramic glass roof, self-closing doors, and cabin air filtration, amongst an array of luxury features.
Mercedes EQE - 376 miles
Like other EQs, the Mercedes EQE doesn’t have the most inspiring appearance. However, it does have an aerodynamic design that accommodates a 90kWh battery, producing an advertised range of 376 miles. The acceleration rates of the Mercedes EQE are 3.5 to 7.3 seconds, depending on the trim.
This EV also has high levels of comfort, and there are 12.3” and 12.8” touchscreens for the controls and infotainment system as standard.
Lotus Eletre - 373 miles
According to Lotus, the base Eletre and Eletre S have a range of up to 373 miles. The acceleration rate of the car is around 62mph in 4.5 seconds. This latest incarnation of the Lotus brand gives competitors like Porsche, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin a run for their money.
The mid-range S trim is expected to be the most popular of the range going forward, with its competitive pricing, hi-tech cabin, and roomy interior.
